A Love for Orthodontics

I love taking someone who is afraid to smile and making them into a person who loves to smile. It’s wonderful to see the increased confidence and self-worth that comes with a healthy and beautiful smile. Most of all, I love knowing we have helped to create a long-term, positive difference in the lives of people who have become our friends.

Orthodontics is a wonderful profession because it allows me time to truly get to know my patients and their families. It’s a pleasure to learn who they are as individuals, and to see their personalities grow as they become more comfortable with their appearance.

Orthodontics is about transformations: Each patient comes to me with the goal of a better smile. As their new smile develops, my patients see the changes and feel more secure in how they look to others. They become more outgoing and social, and their self-esteem grows immeasurably. These transformations happen every day in our practice, and they never grow old!

My Education and Commitment to Continuing Education

I regularly attend multiple continuing education meetings throughout the year. This keeps me updated on the most effective, efficient, and current treatments and technologies. I also stay abreast of the relevant research and discussions published in orthodontic journals. My patients trust me to deliver top-of-the-line care; by constantly learning and expanding my skills, I’m able to ensure they receive it.

Before coming home to Ohio (he grew up in Wooster) Dr. Dean spent 9 years in the U.S. Army as a dentist and orthodontist. It was rewarding to serve our troops all over the world.

Dr. Dean feels fortunate to have lived in many places worldwide and ultimately to be back in his home state.

Fun Fact: Dr. Dean's children were all born in different states! Ohio, Iowa, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Bavaria (Germany)! Dr. Dean's favorite activities are watching Ohio State football and Cleveland Cavaliers basketball, attending live concerts and comedy shows, traveling with friends and family, trying to learn the guitar, and being outdoors.
